Software development in Bavaria
ARSoftware is based in Ergolding, in the district of Landshut. We build custom software for companies: connections into the systems you already run, reporting, AI agents and internal tools that take over the part of the job somebody still does by hand. The company is small and stays small. Whoever sends an enquiry talks to the person who then does the work. The project we can show in most detail was built for an agency in Munich.
Software development for Munich and Upper Bavaria
Munich is around 70 kilometres away as the crow flies. For a meeting that means driving down, working there, driving back in the evening. We have no office in the city and none is planned.
We come on site for the phase where it pays off, which is the analysis. That is where a process gets seen for real instead of described: the exception that has been handled by shouting across the room for three years, the second spreadsheet next to the actual system, the step nobody can justify any more. For that we drive to Munich, to Rosenheim or to Ingolstadt. What follows, the building and the review cycles, runs over screens and phones, because an answer this afternoon beats a meeting in a fortnight.
One finished project stands behind that. PrimeBoost is an Amazon marketing agency in Munich. Between October 2025 and May 2026 we built the reporting system its team uses today to analyse more than 20 seller accounts. Before that, roughly 15 hours a week went into doing it by hand. What a regional provider actually changes
Buying locally is a sales argument, and most of it does not survive scrutiny. Four points hold. Three more appear on every second provider page and are wrong anyway.

The workshop where you stand in the same room
During the analysis we sit next to the people whose work the software will take over. That is where the things surface that appear in no process diagram. Over a video call you learn the same things weeks later, usually once the architecture is already set.

Contracts under German law
We write contracts in German, German law applies, the place of jurisdiction is domestic. While a project runs, none of that is noticeable. In a dispute it is the difference between a phone call and a lawyer in an unfamiliar legal system.

Processing on your behalf, in the same country
When we process data on your behalf, it stays inside Germany: no third-country transfer, no standard contractual clauses, no adequacy decision for anyone to assess. Supervision of non-public bodies in Bavaria sits with the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht. For you and for us alike. Against a provider in Dublin or Tallinn, though, this point shrinks to almost nothing, because the GDPR applies there in exactly the same way.

Documentation and handover in German
Operating documentation, training and handover papers in the language of the people who run the system afterwards. Anyone who has handed an English manual to a workshop foreman knows this is not a detail.
What does not hold

Time zones
Lisbon is an hour behind, Tallinn an hour ahead. Inside the EU, the time zone is not an argument against a remote team. It is a habit that gets mistaken for one.

Language
A team in Leipzig, Vienna or Zurich speaks German just as well. And once a ticket system, a library and a cloud provider are in the project, part of the working language is English regardless. Neither has anything to do with the region.

Proximity read as response time
An outage does not get fixed faster because somebody sits 70 kilometres away instead of 700. It gets fixed over a remote connection. What counts is the agreed response time, and who still picks up the phone in the evening.
Digitalbonus Bayern
Bavaria subsidises digitalisation projects at small companies. Whether your business qualifies comes down to two numbers, and plenty of firms that consider themselves mid-sized sit above them.

How much
Up to 50 % of eligible expenditure. The grant is capped at 7,500 € under the Standard part of the programme and at 30,000 € under Plus. Plus requires particular innovation content, and the guideline names AI explicitly as a focus area. There is a floor as well. Below 4,000 € of eligible expenditure nothing is funded, which a potential analysis commissioned on its own falls short of.

Who
Small commercial enterprises with an establishment in Bavaria, fewer than 50 employees and no more than 10 million euros in annual turnover or annual balance sheet total. Above that threshold the programme pays nothing, however well the project itself fits.

How you apply
Since May 2025 you need a valid ELSTER-Unternehmenskonto to apply. And the programme is not open continuously. A quota is released each month, and how far it goes depends on demand. Across the whole programme you get one application per funding area, one for digitalisation and one for IT security. So a project cannot be split across several applications, and the one you file should already have the scope you want.

Until when
The programme runs to 31 December 2027. What follows it has not been decided, and we do not know either.
Three things that come with the programme
- The application has to be filed before you place a binding order.
- ICT hardware is excluded from funding, apart from robotics and IT-security hardware.
- Check the current conditions with the responsible authority before you decide.

Straubing, Deggendorf, Passau and the districts in between. All of it doable there and back in a day.

Remote, which is how most of any project runs anyway. For the analysis phase we travel further as well.
Our price list carries a travel-day item only for appointments outside Bavaria. For a workshop in Munich it does not appear on the invoice.

Where is ARSoftware based?

Do you work with companies outside Bavaria?
Yes. Most of any project runs remotely anyway, in Bavaria as much as in Hamburg or Vienna. For analysis workshops we travel further as well, and outside Bavaria a travel day appears in the price list. Permanent on-site presence over weeks is not part of it.
